Pantone Color of the Year: Peach Fuzz

24 February 2025

After long months of waiting, Pantone’s color of the year has finally been revealed. After a color as intense and lively as Viva Magenta – the color chosen by the institute for 2023 – the color experts decided to opt for a less intense and more welcoming shade for 2024.

The interesting thing is that, in the psychology of color, this visionary and artistic hue brings a feeling of tenderness and communicates a message of affection, sharing, community and collaboration – something that experts defend as necessary in the current turbulent times in which we live. It’s a color that helps create harmony and balance in all aspects of life: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute, points out: “In searching for a shade that echoes our innate desire for closeness and connection, we chose a radiant color with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a palpable embrace and bridges the gap between youth and timelessness effortlessly.”

It should be noted that Pantone’s annual color selection has been an important key color and trend-setting guideline for companies in various sectors such as fashion, jewelry, interiors, furniture, textiles, decorations and wallpapers.

Now it’s our turn to implement this color and make the magic happen.

A Peach Fuzz Loft

Inspired by the sophistication of this color, the interior designer Catarina Carneiro strategically delved into color selection to bring a captivating and distinctive loft to life. From drawing up a mood board of materials and finishes to the 3D visualization of the space, the designer creates a visual narrative that transcends aesthetics, incorporating elements that reflect the emotions and concepts associated with this hue.

A Dream Bedroom

This imposing bedroom is meant to be an ode to this color – transforming this space into a timeless refuge. In Catarina’s words, “Since the bedroom is an area of relaxation where we seek comfort and tranquillity, I designed this environment to breathe peace. The color Peach Fuzz brings us that air of delicacy and sophistication at the same time.”

From the meticulously selected furniture to the decorative details, each element contributes to visual harmony, while the color of the year brings an aura of sophistication and modernity to the space.

A Charming Living Room

Inspired by the words of Leatrice Eisemam, and with the intention to bring closeness between the people who share a given space, the designer developed this stunning living room.

In her own words, “the living room is the room that, as its name suggests, is the place to relax. The atmosphere should really convey the feeling of relaxation, which makes this color the perfect choice. This shade of peach is versatile and can be used in a variety of elements. In this particular room, I used the shade in textiles such as cushions and rugs along with decorative accessories such as candles or flowers.”

A Vibrant Meeting Room

With the constant growth of hybrid work popularity, the need to create an increasingly complete home office is beginning to emerge, so that it can accommodate all the resident’s needs. In case a last-minute meeting comes up on the agenda, this office will meet all your needs.

With this in mind, the designer wanted to bring the characteristic tranquillity of color into the space, in order to bring the serenity needed for all kinds of meetings: “In this space, I opted for a monochrome environment where I involved the color on the walls with the classic frames to break up the straighter lines of the space and chose the lacquer in the same tone, combining black iron to create contrast and take on the more pronounced shapes.”
